Good book, but not helpful to me Amelia Freer is an expert in her field, she knows her stuff and communicates her message well.This is a well written, informative book. It is not a cookery book, as I thought, but a guide to nutrition and food – it is clear with sensible advice. The bottom line is simple, for a healthy life, more energy, and well being we all need to change our diets; we eat too much sugar, dairy, processed food and gluten (mostly in wheat) and not enough veg, pulses and seeds. To make a difference we need to ditch sugar all together, gluten and dairy need to be reduced and/or replaced with alternatives such as buckwheat, gram flour, maize, quinoa, almond milk and coconut milk. There is information about all alternatives, how good they are and how to use them. Also, the obvious of avoiding caffeine, carbonated drinks, alcohol and salt.I personally didn’t get much new information out of the book, although her evangelical approach is compelling.
